Full Stack WordPress and/or Shopify Developer

We are an established design agency looking for a Full Stack WordPress and/or Shopify Developer to join our team! As part of our team, you will get to work on a diverse range of WordPress and/or Shopify website development and support projects, including high-end brochure sites, e-commerce sites, blogs, forums, and other custom WordPress and/or Shopify projects. The position is full-time and fully remote. You will work with clients from the US, UK and EU and will generally need to be available during UK working hours. Job Responsibilities

  • Translate Figma designs into high-performance, responsive web pages on WordPress (using Elementor, HTML, CSS, JS) and/or Shopify (using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JS).
  • Develop, customize, and modify themes and plugins/apps for WordPress and/or Shopify platforms.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and resolve any conflicts that arise, adhering to the best coding practices.
  • Test features and designs for functionality and fidelity to design specifications.
  • Make revisions based on client feedback.
  • Research and suggest the best tools, plugins, third-party software, APIs, and approaches for achieving desired features.
  • Set up, migrate, and manage multiple websites on WordPress and/or Shopify using appropriate web host management tools and platforms.
  • Implement security measures, including automatic backups and malware scans, and follow contingency protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on WordPress and/or Shopify sites, providing ongoing client support.
  • Efficiently manage tasks and deadlines using project management software, and track time spent on tasks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, marketers, content writers, and other team members.
  • Maintain regular communication with project managers and team members to update on progress and deliver work in a timely manner.
  • Review and provide feedback on the work of other developers, ensuring a high standard of quality.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in developing, theming, customizing, and maintaining websites on WordPress and/or Shopify platforms.
  • At least 2 years of front-end development experience, with excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, and libraries like jQuery.
  • Excellent understanding of page builders like Elementor for WordPress and/or Shopify’s Liquid template language.
  • At least 2 years of solid experience in server-side scripting in PHP for WordPress and/or the equivalent on Shopify.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML) and/or the equivalents on Shopify (GraphQL).
  • Full proficiency in translating Figma designs into multiple breakpoint, responsive, and pixel-perfect web pages.
  • Knowledge of and experience in PHP interfacing with a relational database of MySQL and database management and/or the equivalents on Shopify.
  • Good knowledge of English (all project specifications, feedback, and designs will be in English).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in implementing transition effects and front-end animations will be a major plus.
